Following the sentencing of galamsey kingpin Aisha Huang, there have been a lot of protests demanding a tougher jail term. The Chinese national was sentenced to four and a half years in prison in addition to a fine of GH₵48,000 by an Accra High Court on Monday, December 4, 2023.
However, many stakeholders and citizens consider it lenient. Additionally, the Attorney General announced he would appeal the ruling and demand stiffer sanctions for Aisha Huang.
Today on Newsfile, the host Samson Lardy Anyenini and his guests will look into the ruling and the way forward.
Also on Nesfile, the host and guests will discuss the Lithium mining agreement signed on October 20, 2023, between Ghana and Barari DV Ghana Limited which has seen objections from many stakeholders.
