JoyNews organised a National Dialogue on illegal mining on Monday, December 4, at the Labadi Beach Hotel.
The dialogue aimed to explore radical solutions to the illegal mining menace, commonly known as galamsey, which has evolved into a national crisis.
Key discussants featured in the event included the convener of the media coalition against illegal mining, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Minerals Commission, George Ayisi, and former Minister for Environment and Science and Technology, Professor Frimpong Boateng.
Other participants included the former Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Inusah Feseini, and the Executive Director of the Forest Services Division at the Forestry Commission, Hugh Brown.
