The Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) has served notice to embark on a nationwide revenue mobilisation exercise to retrieve all arrears owed by customers.
This exercise, according to the GWCL in a statement issued on Wednesday, November 15, is to improve the water supply service in the country.
The exercise is expected to take place from Monday, November 20, 2023.
According to the press release, disconnection teams and task forces in the various regions and district offices will disconnect all categories of customers whose bills are in arrears, adding that disconnected customers will be made to pay their bills in full together with reconnection fees.
“We therefore advise our valued customers to make efforts to pay their bills and clear all arrears to avoid being disconnected,” GWCL urged customers.
Apart from disconnecting defaulters, the teams will also look out for illegal connections, self–reconnections and the use of in-line boosters pumps by customers.
It added that all persons found to be engaging in such criminal activities will be arrested by the Police and prosecuted.
