The Minority Leader of Parliament, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson has assured Ghanaians of his caucus’ unflinching support for protecting their interest.
According to him, the Members of Parliament of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) were prepared to oppose any taxes that would worsen the economic conditions of people.
“All that I can assure the people of Ghana is that the NDC minority will stick to them. We will never take a decision that is not in the interest of Ghanaians and businesses. That one we have sworn to the people of Ghana that we will protect them," he said.
His comments come a few minutes ahead of the reading of the 2024 budget and Economic plan.
Dr Forson's assurance comes on the back of rumours that there is going to be an introduction of a number of tax handles worth $11 billion.
The Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta is currently in parliament to present the 2024 budget.
