A Corporate Communications and Corporate Social Responsibility Executive, Nana Kwesi Coomson, has been adjudged the ‘Most Influential Young Person of the Year’ in Western Region at the Fontomfrom Amandze Awards.
At the fifth edition of the award scheme which was held on Saturday, at the Raybow Hotel in Takoradi, Mr Coomson was recognised for making a difference and impacting lives in the Western Region.
He was acknowledged for his annual pep-talk with Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) Candidates across the Western Region over the last six years.
He is also known to hold an annual party with members of Ghana Blind Union and engage in women and youth empowerment seminars and regular support to orphanages.
Mr. Coomson’s impact according to the organisers has impacted over 80,000 lives.
He is also recognised for his contribution to his www.233times.net website.
In an acceptance statement, he said “I am able to do this as a result of collaborations. I believe in the power of partnerships because we become stronger when we come together. Everywhere I am, I represent three groups of people; my family, my faith and Western Region.
“And if really, the best comes from the West, then we must represent that everywhere that we are. We should let the world know where the best comes from. This is to a support family and everyone who has supported in various ways” Mr Coomson remarked.
Calling on those present, he added that, “We are painting the Egyam Orphanage this December. We humbly ask that anyone who can be present for us to paint it faster is welcome. And we will again have our new year party for the members of Ghana Blind Union.”
The award scheme celebrates organisations and individuals making impact in their respective fields. This year’s edition brought together Chiefs, heads of Corporate Institutions and individuals.
