Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has revealed some of the players at the club don’t want to work for their spot.

According to the gaffer, the experienced players in the team have resorted to colleagues in the media to fight for positions.

Experienced players such as Steven Mukwala, Eric Zeus and George’s Mfegue have all suffered the ruthlessness of Ogum at some point so far this season as they have been left on the bench.

And while some fans have questioned some of the decisions, the coach has justified why he has preferred some of the youngsters to ‘politicians.’

"Most of the senior players are not putting in much effort at training, and that’s the reason I start the young guys who were originally not supposed to start," he said at a presser earlier on Wednesday, November 8.

"Some have turned to politicians, and they always want to get playing time by going through their friends who are journalists. But that won’t work. If you are good, prove it at the training ground for everyone to see."

Kotoko are yet to win any of their last four games in the league and their latest defeat against Dreams FC saw the fans boo them off at the Baba Yara Stadium at the end of the game.
