Solomon Lartey, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Africa Sureties and Insurance Advisory Company (ASIAC); an insurance-based risk management firm, will educate stakeholders on what goes into securing insurance for an event at the 4th edition of Joy FM's 'Showbiz Roundtable.'
The Joy FM thought-leadership forum on arts, tourism and culture-SHOWBIZ ROUND TABLE on the 18th of November, 2023, at the Labadi beach Hotel.
The 4th edition of Showbiz Roundtable, dubbed ‘EVENTS, VENUES AND SAFETY’ aims at assessing the operations of event centres, challenges faced by event vendors, the safety consciousness of event patrons and the general precaution checklist of organizing events in general ahead of the Yuletide.
Other people on the panel are Uncle Ebo Whyte, Playwright & Event Organiser and CEO of Asuavo Security Richard Osei.
The rest are Sefa Gohoho, the CEO of Untamed Empire and Kojo Poku - Event Organiser at Big Ideaz Consult.
Solomon has won great spurs in his turf. In December 2022 he was elected president of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Ghana (CIIG), the umbrella body of all professionals and organizations within the insurance industry.
Prior to founding ASIAC, he served as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Activa International Insurance Ghana and in various capacities from 2009 to March 2020.
He is a Chartered Insurance Practitioner and a former Mortgage and Insurance Consultant with the Simple Group in Mitcham, Surrey, United Kingdom.
He also worked as an Insurance and Mortgage Broker at Brooklands Financial Services - Wandsworth, London (an appointed representative of Mortgage Broking Services – MBSL, of Manchester, United Kingdom).
Lartey is a fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Ghana (FCIIG) and an associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute, UK, (ACII). He holds an MBA from the Bradford University School of Management, UK and a first degree from the University of Ghana and a product of the Accra Academy.
He was adjudged General Insurance CEO of the Year at the 2019 Ghana Insurance Awards which was organized by Xodus under the auspices of the Ghana Insurers Association (GIA).
He won Insurance CEO of the Year at the 2018 Entrepreneurs and Corporate Executive Awards which was organized by the Entrepreneurs Foundation of Ghana.
Solomon served on the board of Enterprise Trustees Tier 2 Pension Scheme; where he was chairman of the Investment and Risk Management Committee.
He is a former board member of the Ghana Bureau of the Ecowas Brown Card Scheme and also the Client Rescue Fund Committee of the National Insurance Commission.
