MaLizzFoundation, a Ghanaian Non-Governmental Organisation, has extended its support to communities in the Fiaxor district in the Volta region affected by the Akosombo Dam spillage.

The organisation's efforts aim to address concerns about the equitable distribution of humanitarian aid in the Lower Volta Basin, as most donations were initially concentrated in Mepe, the hardest-hit area.

In response to this issue, MaLizzFoundation has proactively reached out to less-visited areas to provide essential relief items, including sanitary pads, water, and food supplies.

Founder of MaLizzFoundation, Elizabeth Aidoo, emphasised that the donation was particularly targeted at women and girls within the affected communities.

The Foundation's contribution comprised sanitary pads, toiletries, shoes, clothing, and bags.

Michael Dzerakor, the traditional leader of the community, expressed gratitude to the MaLizz Foundation for their valuable assistance and support to the affected communities.

He took the opportunity to call upon the government and other organisations to also extend their aid to these areas, recognising the ongoing challenges faced by the local population due to the Akosombo Dam spillage.
