Voting has concluded in the New Patriotic Party’s presidential primary held across all the 276 constituencies in the country on Saturday, November 4, 2023.
Over 204,000 party members were anticipated to cast their votes to determine the party's flagbearer for the 2023 general elections.
The party aims to secure another term in office by breaking the 8-year election cycle jinx, and is looking for a candidate to lead this effort.
Among the four candidates vying for the NPP flagbearer position is the Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
The other contestants are Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong, former Agriculture Minister Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto, and former Mampong MP Francis Addai-Nimoh.
While all candidates have expressed optimism about their chances, Dr Bawumia is widely regarded as the front-runner, with his closest contender being Kennedy Agyapong.
