A former Chief of Staff, Kwadwo Mpiani has advised party leadership to concentrate on resolving internal party conflict after its primaries and not turn a blind eye like everything is okay.
According to him, many party faithful are displeased with recent events and happening hence steps must be taken to address them to bring unity.
“There is a problem within our party that’s my belief. After talking to people, after watching what’s going on, it is my hope and prayer that if the leadership will open their eyes, their ears to listen and try to repair the party,” he told JoyNews after casting his vote.
He explained that unity was a binding force to "breaking the eight" in the 2024 elections, therefore, the leadership must carry out due diligence by reflecting on happening within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and address it.
Elaborating on how this resolution process should begin he said, the leaders should be open to accepting the problems and try to correct it from within.
Again, he stressed that if the need is, those who have broken away from the party should be brought back because if the NPP failed to protect its stalwarts they may lose more of its members.
“Don’t let us try to be ostriches as some people believe that there is nothing wrong with the party, I think there is something very seriously wrong with the party and the party should look inside to see what they can do to change the situation,” he added.
