Patience Botwe, the housemaid of former Minister for Sanitation, Cecilia Abena Dapaah, and seven others accused of stealing various sums from her home, have been slapped with fresh charges by state prosecutors at the High Court.
They are accused of stealing various sums of money, including $1 million, 300,000 euros, and other properties.
Since July 6 of this year, they have been before the Circuit Court while investigations were underway.
During the hearing today, [Wednesday, November 1] DSP Emmanuel Nyamekye, a police prosecutor, informed the court that a new charge sheet had been filed at the High Court.
He stated that once a hearing date is allocated, they will withdraw the case from the Circuit Court and proceed with the High Court proceedings.
The case was adjourned to November 8, 2023, for the Prosecution to withdraw the case from the Circuit Court. All accused persons were present in court except the eighth accused, who is at large.
Patience Botwe, along with the seven others, face provisional counts of conspiracy, dishonestly receiving, and related charges.
