The Board Chairman of UBA Ghana, Kweku Awotwi, has urged corporate institutions to adopt and implement proper policies that will build resilience during crisis.
According to him, this is key to ensuring business sustainability and growth.
Speaking at the Faculty of Management Studies of the University of Professionals Studies Public lecture, Mr. Awotwi, said businesses must learn to adapt to changing trends and position themselves to withstand shocks at every point in time.
"Resilience in governance is very key to ensuring sustainability. In other jurisdictions, it has to be done with the right people, as well as getting things done through analyzing issues", he said.
He stressed the need for a proper management crisis strategy, adding, it is key in governance.
"I think we all recall the president's [Akufo-Addo’s] address during the COVID-19 pandemic. I think it brought peace to us; that is very important".
On tax policy initiatives, a significant number (30% - 50%) believe that the 2024 Budget should prioritise policies that promote local businesses and exports through industrialisation, agriculture development, and infrastructure development.
"So this is very key in management and as a result we need good policy direction", he added.
The lecture was on the theme "Governing in Times of Crisis: Navigating the Challenges".
