An Executive Council member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Gifty Oware-Mensah, has called on all stakeholders involved to ensure the 2023/24 Women's Premier League season gets better than last season.
The new season is expected to commence on Saturday, October 28, across the two zones involved with eight matches taking place on the opening day.
Ampem Darkoa Ladies won the coveted trophy last season after beating Hasaacas Ladies in the final in the first season played with Malta Guinness as headline sponsors.
This season's encounter promises to better with all 20 clubs poised for action.
Oware-Mensah, who was elected onto the ExCo as a women's football representative has issued a rallying call to make the new season better.
"As the new Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League season kicks off this weekend, we find ourselves once again at the starting line of an exciting journey filled with challenges, triumphs, and unforgettable moments. It's a time when the dedication and hard work put into training and preparation begin to shine under the spotlight," she said in a statement.
"We stand united as a part of the football family, driven by passion and a pursuit of excellence. Challenges may come, but they are also opportunities to demonstrate our strength. We are different teams with different visions, but we are also a family, bound by a common love for the game and a shared dream of success.
"As we take the field, let's wear our jerseys with pride, reflecting not only our clubs but also the values we hold dear. Every pass, tackle, and goal should mirror our commitment to teamwork, sportsmanship, and greatness.
"Together, we'll overcome challenges, celebrate victories, and learn from every experience. This league season is a canvas on which we'll paint our story.
"To our loyal supporters, your presence is our inspiration. Let's see more of you this season. Let's make this season a masterpiece."
