Ghana midfielder, Thomas Partey, missed Arsenal’s UEFA Champions League match against Sevilla on Tuesday night with another injury.
Manager Mikel Arteta said he sustained a muscle injury in training on Monday ahead of the 2-1 win at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium.
Arteta stated that the 30-year-old midfielder was a big miss for the Gunners, and the extent of the injury was unknown.
“Thomas [Partey] picked up an injury yesterday in training, unfortunately it’s a muscle injury. We don’t know the extent of it. A big miss for us,” Arteta said ahead of the game.
After being out for 30 days with a groin injury and missing six games, Partey came off the bench to play 16 minutes in Arsenal’s 1-0 win over Manchester City.
He then went on to feature in all two games for the Black Stars in the international break against USA and Mexico before being an unused substitute for the Gunners in the 2-2 draw at Chelsea.
It is unknown if Partey will be available for the weekend clash against Sheffield United on Saturday.
