Ghanaian singer Sefa has asked organisers of protests targeting to draw attention to the plight of Ghanaians, to map out adequate plans and publicise the events very well so as many as are interested may join in.
She says failing to sensitise the public and therefore reaching out to everyone creates the impression that some do not care.
Speaking in an interview on the ‘Occupy Julorbi House’ protest which recently happened, she revealed that she had no right information until two days after the protest was organised though people still came at her.
"I didn't know there was a protest going on and that day of the protest I was supposed to release a song. I posted my new song on Instagram and people started calling me to delete it before people started bashing me. I asked what was going on because I didn't know what was happening.
"I was told two days after about what 'Occupy Julorbi House' was. The whole thing started on Twitter and I don't handle my Twitter account so I didn't even know".
According to the black Avenue music singer, even after reading the meaning of what the protest was about, she went ahead to air her view on the attack of the people present at the protest, she was still bashed on Twitter about the situation which made her wonder if those bashing her were also present to support.
" I heard that people got attacked which got me so I tweeted about it and I was still bashed on Twitter. Those on Twitter who went hard bashing people who weren't there, were you also there? I might not be there because I didn't know about what's happening but why weren't you there?" She asked.
The Echoke hitmaker added that, for demonstrations like these, Ghanaians need to be informed duly because it seemed the impact of the protest was justified..
She emphasized that protests should be well organised so that the people don't take it as a joke.
