The Black Princesses of Ghana had a flying start to their 2024 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup qualifiers after beating Guinea Bissau on Sunday afternoon.
Yussif Basigi's side claimed a 3-0 win away from home in the first leg of the game to put one foot in the next round.
Goals from Success Ameyaa, Mary Amponsah and Mercy Attobra handed Ghana an emphatic victory with the second leg to come.
Ameyaa opened the scoring in the added time of the first half as she scored from a free kick to give the team the lead heading into the break.
After the recess, Ampem Darkoa Ladies' Amponsah doubled the lead after 67 minutes before Attobra put the game beyond the reach of the home side.
She came off the bench to score the third goal in the game to claim the win.
The Princesses now boast of a 3-0 advantage heading into the second leg of the tie which is set for Saturday, October 14, 2023, at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The 2024 U-20 Women's World Cup is set to be held in Colombia.
