Veteran politician and former Ningo Prampram member of parliament, Enoch Teye Mensah (ET) has died at the age of 77.
He died Sunday evening in South Africa where he was receiving health care.
A member of the National Democratic Congress, E.T. Mensah served in various capacities such as Minister for Education, Minister of Youth and Sports, Mayor of Accra and representative of the Council of State for the Greater Accra Region.
E.T. Mensah was elected as a member of Parliament of the second parliament of the Fourth Republic of Ghana during the 1996 General Election. He retained his seat as Ningo Prampram MP until 2016 when he lost the NDC’s parliamentary primary to Samuel Nartey George.
His death comes a day after former First Lady Theresa Kufuor passed on.
