Beyoncé’s hometown show in Houston was the most savage Renaissance tour date yet.
The superstar, 42, brought her Renaissance World Tour to Houston on Saturday, and Megan Thee Stallion — who also hails from the Texas city — came out on stage as a special guest.
Fans captured footage of the surprise appearance, in which the two performed their collaboration “Savage (Remix).”
"I love you, Queen," Beyoncé told Megan in one video shared on X, formerly known as Twitter. In response, the rapper stated, "I love you, Beyoncé."
The Houston concert marked the first time the “Break My Soul” singer and Megan, 28, performed the 2020 hit together live.
The "WAP" rapper previously attended the Renaissance Tour as a fan. She was spotted in the crowd next to Bey's husband JAY-Z at the Paris show in late May.
The New York Post's Page Six reported on Thursday that the “Body” rapper dropped out of the lineup at New York City’s Global Citizen Festival when Queen Bey invited her to take the stage the same day at her Houston show.
Last week, the music festival announced with a post on X (formerly known as Twitter) that the hip-hop star had to pull out “due to an unforeseen scheduling conflict."
Megan Thee Stallion (whose real name is Megan Pete) first released "Savage" on her Suga EP in March 2020. After the song went viral on TikTok, Beyoncé hopped on a remix of it in late April of that year.
The collaboration propelled the song to even more success — reaching No. 1 on the Hot 100 and scoring the duo best rap song and best rap performance at the 2021 Grammy Awards.
While accepting the Grammy for best rap song, the “Bongos” rapper expressed just how much of an icon she considered the “Cuff It” singer to be.
“I definitely want to say thank you to Beyoncé,” she said. "If you know me, you have to know ever since I was little, you know that when I grow up I'm going to be like the rap-Beyoncé. That was my goal. I love her work ethic, I love how she is, I love the way she carried herself."
She added, "Thank you, Beyoncé, for your encouraging words all the time.”
Beyoncé also sang her praises of the rap star by saying, "I'm proud of you. I quickly want to give my love to Megan. I have so much respect for you."
Megan Thee Stallion again opened up about working with the 32-time Grammy winner in Elle’s May 2023 issue.
She said, “I didn't believe she was actually gonna do it, but she did it, and my mind was blown. I called my granny. Me and my manager was in my living room, going crazy."
