The Kings' Union Youth Organization is proud to announce the launch of the Bishop Charisma Global Leaders Scholarship, a prestigious need and merit-based scholarship program aimed at bridging the gap between access to education and financial constraints for brilliant but needy students.
This initiative, undertaken by the Such As I Have initiative which is run by The Kings’ Union Youth Organization, a church and NGO founded by Bishop Charisma Eben Evangel, aims to provide educational opportunities to students at the basic school, senior high school, and tertiary education levels.
The scholarship scheme is also a bid to encourage extra-curricular engagement in schools through leadership, hard skill learning, and sports programs so as to diversify education and instigate the utmost potential of students.
The Bishop Charisma Global Leaders Scholarship offers a range of invaluable benefits to deserving students. For qualifying students in tertiary education, the scholarship provides partial or full tuition coverage for an entire academic year, ensuring that financial limitations do not hinder their pursuit of higher education.
Additionally, senior high school students will receive food and provision scholarships throughout three years or for a year, enabling them to focus on their studies without the burden of basic needs.
Furthermore, the scholarship includes accommodation support for tertiary students with demonstrated financial need, alleviating the stress of finding and funding suitable housing while pursuing their academic goals.
This scholarship program has a deeply personal and inspiring origin. Bishop Charisma himself witnessed a number of church members face significant financial challenges in their educational journey, particularly regarding tuition and accommodation during tertiary education. Determined to prevent others from experiencing the same hardships, Bishop Charisma established the Such As I Have initiative and the Bishop Charisma Global Leaders Scholarship as a means of empowering young individuals to overcome financial barriers and reach their full potential.
Eligibility for the Bishop Charisma Global Leaders Scholarship is designed to be inclusive and fair. Students who are already part of the Such As I Have leadership programs are automatically eligible for consideration.
For those who are not part of the program, an aptitude test will be administered to assess their potential. The scholarship committee will review all applications thoroughly and make selections based on both academic merit and financial need.
Speaking about the launch of the scholarship, Bishop Charisma expressed his unwavering commitment to education and the transformative power it holds.
He stated, “Education should be key to unlocking doors of opportunity and empowering individuals to create a better future for themselves and the community. The Bishop Charisma Global Leaders Scholarship is a testament to our dedication to supporting brilliant students who face financial obstacles in our bid to raise nation-building conscious students. By investing in their education, we are investing in a brighter tomorrow for them, and for the country at large.”
The Kings' Union Youth Organization invites students, parents, and educational institutions – stakeholders of education – to spread awareness about the Bishop Charisma Global Leaders Scholarship and encourage eligible candidates to apply. By sharing this press release and information about the scholarship, together we can ensure that deserving students receive the support they need to realize their educational dreams.
