An aspiring Parliamentary Candidate of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Kpandai Constituency, Richard Nyamah has asked political parties not to politise the ongoing limited voters' registration exercise.
According to him, it does not benefit anyone to run down the exercise for any "cheap political gain(s).
Speaking in an interview with JoyNews on Monday, September 18, Mr Nyamah narrated the challenges some constituents of Kpandai are facing due to the rainy season.
He revealed that some portions of the Kpandai constituency have been cut off due to the situation which he described as force majeure.
"I think the process is going smoothly. Initially, there were a lot of hitches with network issues and other issues with the political parties not understanding the process. But, the major issue affecting the exercise is force majeure that is the weather as currently there is a lot of rainfall in the northern region.
"Currently, part of the Kpandai constituency has been cut off completely which is preventing constituents in some parts of the constituency from coming to register because the rivers are overflowing their banks."
Meanwhile, the Electoral Commission (EC) has registered a total of 182,831 voters in the first six days of the limited voter registration exercise being conducted across the country.
