The Ghana Amputee football team made history as they became the first team to reach the final of the Amputee Football tournament in the African Paralympic games
The Black Challenge defeated Egypt 2-1 in the semi-finals.
The Egyptians were undefeated in the tournament, winning all three games in the group stage.
However, despite going a goal down in the first half to the North Africans through an Ahmed Ibrahim goal, Ghana didn't panic but showed resilience and determination to win the game.
In the end, it was Hamza Mohammed who stole the show as his two goals in the second half and extra time carried Team Ghana into the finals of the tournament.
Head Coach of the Ghana Amputee Football Team, Stephen Richard Obeng is already eyeing revenge against Morocco in the final after his team suffered a 2-1 loss against the North Africans in the group stage .
"We lost to them 2-1, It was compleceny that set in the team, and it was good for us that we lost. Now we are coming all out for Mother Ghana. Expect a win from us in the finals. That is my word to Ghanaians. "
The final will take place at the MacDan La Town Park Stadium on Sunday, September 10, 2023 at 3pm.
