The amazing annual BET Awards are back with a bang this year. They have released the full 2023 nomination list, which has some interesting surprises.
The prestigious BET Awards are coming back this October for their 2023 edition. The award is celebrating 50 years of recognising the best talents in the music industry and honouring them.
Cardi B, 21 Savage, Drake, and Burna Boy have the highest number of nominations.
Cardi B and 21 Savage lead with 12 nominations each. Drake has nine nominations, while Burna Boy and DJ Khaled have seven each.
Several artists from the continent, aside from Burna Boy were nominated for the awards. AKA, K.O and Sampa The Great are among the African artists nominated at the BET.
Connie Orlando, BET’s EVP specials, music programming and music strategy, said, "This year’s BET Hip Hop Awards will mark the culmination of our yearlong celebration of hip-hop’s storied creation and the art form’s sonic and cultural expansion.
"We are honoured by this year’s roster of nominees as they continue to carry the creativity and diversity of hip-hop into the future. We congratulate each nominee on their accomplishments as they take hip-hop artistry to new heights."
Fans can start voting for DJ of the year, producer of the year, and best hip-hop platform on Tuesday, September 12, at noon ET on the BET website, where more information about the awards is also available.
