Ghanaian singer, Black Sherif, has given his fans something to cheer about as he wins the West African Artist of the Year at the 16th Headies Awards.
The Headies Awards 2023 which was held in Atlanta Georgia, USA, on Sunday, September 3, turned more heads as the singer took the stage to receive the award.
The “Kwaku the traveler” hit maker was nominated among Afropop singers like Gyakie, Camidoh, and The Therapist from Liberia for the same category.
Black Sherif after receiving the award thanked his fans in Nigeria and Ghana, with special thanks to those in Konogo Zongo, his birthplace in the Ashanti Region.
“Thank you so much to the fans, to the listeners. Thank you Headies, thank you Nigeria, Thank you Ghana, thank you Konongo Zongo, I love you,” he said.
Early this year, the “Second sermon” singer also won Most Popular Song of the Year and Best Collaboration of the Year at the 2023 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs).
He also won the most coveted, Artist of the Year award on the same night.
