It is Hearts of Oak's league title to lose than rivals Kokoto to retain as the Glo Premier league hits week 28, Wednesday at all league centres.
The Phobians with a 14 point lead at the end of the first round, decided to 'sleep on the job' and allowed defending champions Kotoko and dark horses King Faisal to crawl back into contention for the title with three matches to go.
The Phobians with two points adrift of Kotoko and King Faisal, battle against Beechem Chelsea in a must-win encounter for both sides at the Ohene Djan Stadium. Neither side has an excuse to lose.
Hearts sacked Coach Kosta Papic at the height of the desperation as the points whittled away, and the decision has turned out to be a far-fetched one.
Coach Nii Noi Thompson is yet to make an impression after taking over from Papic. He banks his hope on mid-field gem and prodigy, Tawrik Djibril to deliver the Phobians from the shackles of defeat but inconsistencies in the starting line-up could prove costly.
Chelsea are sixth on the league table with 38 points but are not immune from relegation. A pulsating encounter awaits football fans in Accra, but the Phobians are likely to carry the day.
A similar but dramatic fixture will be sold out at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, when Kotoko host Hasaacas. The Porcupine Warriors badly need a win to keep their title ambitions alive, but Hasaacas perhaps need the points more.
They are knee-deep into relegation and another defeat could wreck havoc. Kotoko's Coach Herbert Addo is sensing fatigue in his boys, a signal that the Sekondi lads could wrestle for a point, but Kotoko is favourite to take the maximum points at stake.
Title contenders, King Faisal are away to Sekondi Eleven Wise. Faisal have shown an impregnable form and might just grind another victory in Sekondi, but need to play above themselves. With relegation hanging ominously around the necks of CK Akunnor's side, a draw looks the more likely.
Elsewhere, Kpando Heart of Lions host yet another candidate for relegation- All Blacks. The Lions are also in contention for the league title and are hot favourites to pick the maximum points.
After a 3-3 cliff-hanger at the Ohene Djan Stadium with Kotoko, Liberty trek to Tamale as guest of Real Tamale United. Latif Salifu who bagged two goals in that match for Liberty, must exhibit another headline performance to clinch a point in Tamale. Other than that, Abdul Razak's side who are outstanding at home will pick the points at stake.
At Wa, All Stars are set to pick maximum points in their match against relegated St Mirren as Arsenals and Kessben might share the spoils at the Berekum City Park.
The Tema Sports Stadium will bubble with intense action with another fierce encounter between host Tema Youth and another relegation candidate, Ashantigold. Tema Youth looks the more likely candidate for the maximum points.
