Lucky Trip, the Ghanaian reality TV series that engages young people with entertaining education, is back for Season 3.
The series is in partnership with the United States Government, through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Ghana Health Service, CFAO by Suzuki and Lifebuoy.
This season features 15 of Ghana's beloved celebrities, including luminaries like James Gardiner, Roselyn Ngissah, David Osei, and Elikem the Tailor.
During each episode, unsuspecting riders catch a ride with a celebrity, engaging in a conversation about important public health issues.
"The episodes will shed light on vital topics like adolescent health, and family planning. We will learn important health messages, but in a way that makes it real to all of us," said USAID Ghana’s Acting Health Office Director Dr Stephen Dzisi at Friday’s premiere.
Mabel Anim, Deputy Director for Health Promotion Division at the Ghana Health Service, highlighted their commitment to fostering health-conscious behaviours through media.
"Through mass media and TV programs, we enlighten Ghana's population about essential health behaviours," she explained.
Mawule Messan, speaking for production company Sacrefilms, shared the show's evolution. "Lucky Trip originated from the idea of connecting celebrities with their authentic selves to inspire youth.
"It takes viewers on a visual journey through Ghana while addressing health challenges and solutions."
Lucky Trip Season 3 brings together education, inspiration, and entertainment.
Season 3 merges public engagement with health messaging in an entertaining way that motivates young people to adopt new behaviours.
The project forms part of USAID’s commitment to helping Ghanaian youth adopt safe health behaviours that will ultimately improve public health.
Lucky Trip Season 3 airs on TV3 and JoyPrime every Saturday at 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. respectively.
