The contestants of Miss Teen Tourism World 2023 embarked on a thrilling adventure, immersing themselves in the natural beauty and historical significance of Ghana's Central Region.
Dressed in bespoke pink t-shirts paired with jeans and adorned with their sashes, the teen beauty ambassadors embarked on a remarkable exploration of both Kakum National Park and the Cape Coast Castle.
The renowned Kakum National Park, a testament to Ghana's breathtaking beauty and diverse biodiversity, served as the starting point. The lush terrain of the park provides sanctuary to local wildlife and vegetation.
A highlight of the park is its iconic canopy walkway, an epitome of human creativity. Here, contestants strolled amidst treetops, embracing the vibrant life of the forest below. The elevated walkway offers a unique perspective, harmonizing visitors with nature itself.
In addition to the natural wonders, the contestants delved into Ghana's history with a visit to the Cape Coast Castle.
Led by a tour guide, they were confronted with the heart-wrenching reality of the transatlantic slave trade. Walking through rooms that once served as slave dungeons, emotions ran high. Tears and disbelief permeated the atmosphere as the teens absorbed the profound history etched into the castle's walls.
The emotional journey continued as the contestants paid respects to esteemed traditional leaders. A courtesy call was made on the Paramount Chief of Oguaa Traditional Area, Osabarima Kwesi Atta Il, and the Queen Mother of Effutu, Nana Amba Eyiaba I, at the Emintsimadze Palace in Cape Coast. The warmth of their welcome and the wisdom they imparted left a lasting impact on the young ambassadors.
Amid the emotional encounters, camaraderie flourished among the contestants. Hugs of support and smiles of understanding were shared, reinforcing the sense of unity that such experiences can foster.
The tour signifies the rich cultural and historical immersion that the Miss Teen Tourism World 2023 contestants are undergoing as they prepare for the upcoming competition. Held in Ghana from August 1 to August 20, the event not only showcases beauty but also highlights the profound cultural heritage and historical significance that the country holds.
