French Ligue 1 side AS Monaco has reached an agreement with Southampton for the signing of Ghanaian defender Mohammed Salisu.
The move is subject to the player reaching an agreement with the club over personal terms as well as completing a mandatory medical test.
Salisu struggled last season during his time with the Saints last season due to injury and barely featured in the latter part of the season as the club suffered relegation.
The Black Stars centre-back featured 22 times in the Premier League last season.
The Ghanaian has just a year left on his current deal at St Mary's Stadium but is likely to end up in France this summer.
The player was previously on the radar of Premier League side Fulham, who opted to sign Calvin Bassey from Ajax ahead of Salisu.
The 24-year-old was not included in the Southampton squad for their pre-season friendlies against AZ Alkmaar on Saturday or Bournemouth on Tuesday as he gest closer to an exit.
