Star Assurance is set to reward Bolt drivers with fuel and airtime, among other things, when they buy a motor insurance policy on the Bolt app using the Star Pokuaa WhatsApp Insure.
This is part of efforts to strengthen the existing partnership between Star Assurance and Bolt Ghana.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Star Assurance, Boatemaa Barfour-Awuah, speaking during a ceremony to unveil initiative, said the partnership is a great opportunity for both Star Assurance and Bolt to reach a wider audience to provide their customers with even better service.
CEO of Goldstar Insurance Brokers, Nana Dufie Amakye Ansah, the broker for Bolt Ghana who was present at the ceremony, urged other insurance companies to find innovative ways to reach out to more prospective and existing customers just as Star Assurance has done for Bolt drivers.
Country Manager of Bolt Ghana, David Nikoi, applauded Star Assurance and Goldstar Insurance Brokers for coming up with innovative ways to make life easier for Bolt drivers to enable them to offer quality service to their customers.
He also indicated that Star Assurance has been a reliable partner considering the high success rate of the existing Personal Accident Insurance policy for Bolt drivers and riders.
Also present were some bolt drivers, who expressed their gratitude to Star Assurance and Bolt for always coming up with great initiatives to make their work better.
Existing Partnership
The Ride-hailing service, Bolt, in 2021, partnered with Ghana's Star Assurance Company Ltd. to provide personal accident insurance cover for its drivers and riders across the country.
The company made the move as it prioritizes the safety and security of its riders and drivers, naming insurance as a critical part of its safety programme.
The policy, which took effect on April 1, 2021, is designed to cover riders’ and drivers’ accidental medical expenses as well as compensation for death or permanent disability suffered by them while on a trip requested through the Bolt App.
Bolt started its operations in Ghana in 2017, building an extensive network in the country.
About Star Assurance
