Miss Grand Ghana is part of Miss Grand International, an international beauty pageant which aims at promoting peace and stopping violence around the world.
Giving a speech at the crowning, Kitava-Yvettlana said “as I begin my reign as Miss Grand Ghana 2023, I would like to focus on empowering young women through education. Education they say is the key to success."
“However, having the ability to identify and understand your roots through education makes you empowered as a person, and that is the true feeling of success and pride."
"I will help educate the girl-child in schools including Bishop Bowers School, Kotobabi Catholic School and Dominase Methodist School on the need to empower and immerse themselves in knowledge, intelligence, culture, good health and ethics—the right tools they will need to achieve greatness,” she said.
At the event, the President of Miss Grand Ghana, Evelyn Abena Akuaba Appiah, said Kitava-Yvettlana was selected to represent Ghana at Miss Grand International because she has everything.
“Kitava-Yvettlana has participated in a lot of pageants and has all the experience so I have no doubts that she will do well when she competes at Miss Grand International. She has the looks, the brains and I believe in her,” she stated.
The well-attended event was graced by dignitaries including H.E. Maher Kheir, Ambassador of Lebanon in Ghana, H.E. A.M Youssef, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Ghana, Zahara-Imani Bossman-Pinkrah.
