A former Deputy Communications Minister Felix Kwakye Ofosu says none of the 10 candidates gaining for the New Patriotic Party (NPP)’s flagbearer race can win the 2024 elections against former President John Mahama.
He said the achievements of Mr Mahama speak for themselves and nothing can be done to thwart that.
According to him, the Ghanaian voter is discerning and does not tolerate mediocrity in government.
The Abura Asebu-Kwamankese parliamentary candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) speaking in a media interview said Dr Bawumia will make the NDC’s job easy to win the 2024 polls.
He said all the NDC has to do is to put together all video clips of what Dr Bawumia said in opposition and play it back to government.
“These people are in a race to nowhere. None of them can hold a match against former President Mahama.”
“None of them can defeat him. It is obvious Bawumia will win their race but what we in the NDC can do to him, we may not necessarily be able to do the same to the others.”
The NPP will elect its flagbearer for the 2024 elections on November 4.
So far, all 10 flagbearer hopefuls have been cleared to contest in the upcoming elections.
The party disclosed this in a press release issued on Wednesday, July 12.
According to the press statement, the Prof Mike Oquaye Vetting Committee approved all 10 candidates after vetting them individually.
The General Secretary of the party, Justin Kodua Frimpong said the Committee made this known in their report pursuant to Article 10(3) of the NPP constitution.
