For those who thought YouTuber Kwadwo Sheldon only got into the limelight through controversy, the content creator has disclosed his trade secret.
According to him, it takes more than being controversial to break through as a content creator on the internet.
He told Kwame Dadzie on Joy FM’s Showbiz A-Z that dedication, hard work and consistency are the virtues that drive his success.
“Controversy started this. Dedication, hard work and quality content for me here. That is what most people are refusing to admit and I will use every platform that I step on to remind them that this is not controversy. Controversy is not going to get you this kind of numbers. It’s about consistency, hard work and creating content that people want,” he said.
“If you have followed me, you would know that there has been a transformation. We used to be careless, we used to be reckless on that platform. We transitioned to a point where people list media houses in Ghana and they list me,” he added.
When asked what his advice for the younger bloggers who are fixated on controversy would be, he said when they mature, they will do the right thing.
Touching on some to the careless things he used to do on social media, he said “for Twitter, at some point, what these people are doing, we used to troll people, move to people, agenda - all violence. At that time we felt like people would come in and engage, people will come and retweet and all that. But at the end of the day, if we are looking at growing, taking this thing to the next level, there is no point in doing that.”
He said he has about seven lines content for his company Kwadwo Sheldon Studios at present. Some of them are 'Face Off', 'Yawa of the Day' and the 'Breakdown with Kwadwo Sheldon.'
