Burkina Faso picked a 2-0 win against Ghana in their second game at the ongoing 2023 U20 WAFU B Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
The defeat at the Stade Champroux on Monday afternoon leaves the Black Satellites' chances of making it to the semifinal hanging in the balance. They would have to depend on other results to progress from the group stage.
Samuel Boadu's side drew 1-1 against Niger in their Group A opening match on Friday.
Burkina Faso scored both goals in the first half, with the second coming as a result of very poor defending from the Black Meteors. They were cut through easily with simple exchange of passes from the Burkinabe.
Ghana finished the game with ten men after goalkeeper David Afful, who was voted Man-of-the-Match in the Niger game, was sent off.
Ghana must now beat host nation Ivory Coast in their final group game to stand a chance of progressing to the semifinal of the competition.
Ivory Coast lost their Group A opening game to Burkina Faso but won against Niger later on Monday evening in their second game.
