The recent heavy rains are driving many a Ghanaian homeless including the leader of the Great Consolidated Popular Party (GCPP), Mr Dan Lartey.
Mr Lartey’s Kaneshie residence is said to have been inundated with water with walls of building falling apart.
General Secretary of the GCPP, Adam Ali, said the party has decided to withhold the information from Mr Lartey until he returns from a private visit to the United States.
Children of Mr Lartey are said to have contracted artisans to renovate the house before he returns.
Meanwhile the coordinator of the National Disaster Management Organization – NADMO says Mr. Lartey’s house is not on the water but got flooded because of choked drains.
Kofi Portuphy says his team is assessing the extent of damage after offering relief to Mr. Lartey’s family and neighbours.
