The Chief Executive Officer of Davida Roofing Systems Ltd, Davida Aziago, has supported renovation works on the Regimental Aid Post (RAP) at the Battle Training Camp (BTC) in Bundase, to befit the status attained by the Army Peace Operations Training School (APOTS) as a certified United Nations Training Centre.
The renovation works was mainly facilitated by the United Nations Mission in South Sudan Ghana Battalion 11 (UNMISS GH 11).
The reconstruction works were done within two weeks, and was one of the four projects commissioned on Thursday, May 18, 2023, on the sidelines of the official presentation of the United Nations Training Recognition Certification to the Commander, APOTS – Colonel Clement Kojo Dingane, by the Chief of the Army Staff, Major General Thomas Oppong-Peprah, in the company of an array of Generals and Senior Officers of the Army.
The renovated new look of the RAP, which is a shining contrast to its old pale self, both internally and externally, was spearheaded by Lieutenant Colonel Dominic Ampomah – Commanding Officer (CO), 1 Infantry Battalion, who doubles as CO, UNMISS GH 11.
Aside from Davida Roofing, other friends of the Battalion who supported the renovation works were Akroma Gold Mining Company, the Chief Executive Officer of Agazy Homes, Mr Thomas Ayisa, TT Quarry Ltd, and Mr Samuel Kyerbuah Bunyan who jointly supported with an air-conditioner and quarry stones.
The three other projects commissioned by the COAS were a Post-Exchange shop, a 900-person capacity Social Center, and a Water Purification Plant, by the APOTS.
Speaking to the media after a brief opening ceremony, Davida Aziago said his company's support to the project is part of the company's Corporate Social Responsibility. He said the firm is ready to support major institutions when the need arises since the vision of Davida Roofing is to provide quality roofing services at all times.
"I am very glad that we have also contributed massively to support this all-important course. We hope to do more in the years ahead. As you all know, Davida Roofing has high quality aluminum, aluzinc shingles, eurotiles and light steel metal trusses when it comes to Roofing in the country", he said.
Davida Aziago took the opportunity to call on individuals, institutions and contractors to fall on Davida Roofing Systems for all their Roofing and housing needs.
The reconstruction work included converting all louvres to sliding glass, re-roofing, floor tiling of the entire building, installation of new door locks, face-lift of staff and patients’ washrooms with new water closets and shower fittings, painting, plumbing works, landscaping, installation of new ceiling fans with switches, air-conditioners with switches, sockets and security lights.
Davida Aziago was recently honoured at the 2022 Forty Under 40 Awards for his contributions towards social works in the country and beyond.
Davida Roofing is also working progressively on its housing division with the objective to assist low and middle income earners to own their homes through a rent-to-own system with less stress.
