The Executive Secretary to the Vice President, Dr. Augustine Blay, has been praised by the Chief Executive Officer of Bibiani Goldstars Sporting Club, John Akwasi Adu, for the crucial role he played in ensuring that his club qualified for the Ghana Premier League from the National Division One league.
Bibiani Goldstars qualified for the Premier League during the 2021/2022 season after an excellent performance in the Division One League Zone 2.
In an interview with Mr Akwasi Adu revealed that Dr Augustine Blay came to their rescue when they were in a difficult situation in Division One.
He said during the closing stages of the 2020/2021 Division One League, the team struggled with financial problems, a phone call to Dr Blay to solicit funds in other to honor the rest of their remaining fixtures and also ensure the club qualifies to the Premier League.
Mr. Akwasi Adu disclosed that Dr. Blay enquired from them how much they needed to honor the rest of their matches and fulfilled his promise by giving them GHS 10,000.
He stated that the money inspired them to win three straight games, which helped them qualify for the Premier League.
Mr. Akwasi Adu further revealed that if not for the kind benevolence of Dr. Blay, they could not have honored the rest of their league matches.
He said the money served as a motivation to them to give their all in ensuring they gained a historic promotion to the Ghana Premier League.
The Chief Executive Officer concluded that the team will ever be grateful to Dr. Augustine Blay for the crucial role he played.
