Lawyer and Parliamentary aspirant for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Victor Kojoga Adawudu says his decision to contest as a parliamentary candidate is underpinned by his will to unify Central Tongu.
He explained that due to his humanitarian services in the area, the electorates have been urging him to represent them in Parliament.
Mr Adawudu added that he was confident that these calls were attributable to the fact that the people deemed him the best candidate to bring the constituency together.
“I think it is time they are calling me to give back to provide leadership to the constituency. I think one of the challenges we've had as Central Tongu in the few years has been leadership. And I think that also there is some fragmentation within the constituency and they see me as somebody who can come and unify the constituency and move it ahead.”
He also added that he was confident the people of Central Tongu believed he was the perfect person to work alongside North Tongu MP, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, to make the constituencies in the region more visible.
“I think that they feel also that I'll be a perfect complement to my brother Sammy Okudzeto to bring the Tongu land out because the Tongu area, we have three constituencies and they are looking for people who can project Tongu land in the Volta Region.
“And I think that the people believe that I'll be a perfect person to complement and help in the leadership role because they have seen at least… they believe that I'll be able to project by what we do, I'll also be able to project Central Tongu and Tongu as a whole.
The legal practitioner intends to run for NDC's parliamentary seat in Central Tongu.
Mr Adawudu is contesting alongside the incumbent Central Tongu MP, Alexander Roosevelt Hottordze.
Other candidates also eyeing the seat are: Dr Yayra Fosu, Mr Dzisenu Raphael, and Mr Kove Daniel.
