Director of Train2inspire Consultancy, Oscar Bimpong has mentioned that the human mindset is a very powerful tool such that it can determine the success or otherwise of an individual.
Speaking on Joy Prime’s Prime Morning, Mr. Bimpong said having a negative mindset or less belief towards something will actually result in failure, whilst having an optimistic mind towards an action or initiative will most likely lead to success.
“The moment you think that this one cannot work, so be it, that is the foundation of your success or failure in life. If you think that you cannot do it, God will bless it for you, but if you think that you can do it, that is the first stage of breaking limiting beliefs to achieve your goals,”
“And this is where I think we always get it wrong, so if you stay on the negative tangent, you can never transition to the positive tangent, I can tell you that a lot of people are born to fail because of the mindset they carry,” he said this on Monday.
According to him, even if an individual is successful and excellent at what they do and yet have a negative mind, they will always be stagnant at one place and never improve.
“Somebody asked me a question, look, for me I’m very successful but most at times I’m negative, I told the person that if you start being positive and have that energy as part of your life, you’ll progress,”
“So we should understand that the level that you are, you can still improve, they say the biggest room you can ever have is the room of improvement, if you’re always improving yourself and you’re very positive about what you do, you’ll never stay at one place, though people see you to be successful, the world will be your oyster,” he advised.
Mr Bimpong who is also the authour of “Mindset revolution” added that certain factors or conditions may cause an individual to have negative mindset which could be personal beliefs, one’s family background, the environment in which they find themselves and the people they surround themselves with.
The expert also said that whilst believing to succeed is important, it is equally important for an individual to work towards it to be able to achieve whatever it is they want to.
“The problem is that a lot of people, they visualize it but they don’t go out there to take action, and some they take action, but when they meet ten people that tell them no, they go back into their shells and they go to sleep, but those who succeed are the ones who fight, they don’t give up, they keep pushing, there’s a wall, they find a way to climb the wall,” Mr. Bimpong explained.
He encouraged individuals to keep pursuing their dreams by having a positive mindset with hard work and see how their future will blossom.
