A Member of Parliament hopeful, Raphael Kobla Korda, is promising to help restore what he described as the lost glory of the Ho Central Constituency in the Volta Region.
He outlined development, wealth creation, and reviving the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Constituency as part of his primary objectives.
Addressing the press in Ho, Mr. Korda said he is the best candidate in the Ho Central Constituency to lead John Mahama’s restoration agenda.
Mr. Korda said he was initiated into politics and the NDC by his mother in the early days of the Rawlings era, chronicling how his mother would pick him after school and send him to political rallies and other activities.
With his engineering background, and being a problem-solver, Mr. Korda said he has assessed the Constituency where he was nurtured, hence designed a comprehensive plan to guide its development.
The MP aspirant said he would prioritize economic independence among others to restore the hope of constituents in the NDC.
"I stand for growth, I stand for development, I stand for diversity and inclusion, leading a team of people that will be inspired, a team of people that will be economically independent. I want to represent my people in Parliament so that after four years, the glory of Ho Central will come back, a full representation that will give value. I want to lead a way of change that will bring the life of NDC back to Ho Central Constituency", he said.
Among the many who have submitted nomination forms to contest the primaries, Mr. Korda identified himself as the best parliamentary candidate for the NDC heading into the 2024 general election.
"Come 2025, 7th January, when His Excellency John Dramani Mahama becomes the next President of Ghana and I, Raphael Kobla Korda Makafui become MP for Ho Central Constituency, we will reset Ghana, and I want Ho Central to also benefit, to also be a full beneficiary of that reset and rebuilding", he stressed.
The NDC's parliamentary and presidential primaries have been slated for Saturday, May 13, 2023, to elect a presidential candidate and parliamentary candidates who will contest the 2024 election on the ticket of the NDC.
