With barely a year to the 13th African Games, the Sports Select Committee of Parliament toured the facilities to host the games on Monday, March 13.
The tour was to check the progress of works being done at the Borteyman Sports Complex and Legon Stadium following the extension of the date for the event.
While work at the latter was far advanced, the Borteyman Sports Complex, which will host 21 of the 23 sporting disciplines, had seen just 20 per cent of construction.
However, the project manager on site has promised that the venue, which includes a standard swimming pool, a tennis court and a multipurpose sports hall will be ready before the games commence.
The 13th African Games, which was initially scheduled for August 2023, will now be held in March 2024 with the opening ceremony set for March 8.
