As the country marks Ghana Month, Ghanaian-owned fashion home, WilNorb, is making a strong case for locally designed apparels with Ghana-made fabrics.
According to the company, the apparel production industry has the potential to grow and contribute to socioeconomic development.
Speaking to JoyBusiness, Entrepreneur and Brand Ambassador of WilNorb Fashion home, John Dumelo, said the textile and clothing industry is becoming an increasingly important part of the economy of most African countries.
He says Ghanaians should project made in Ghana apparels in order to attract foreign direct investments for the country.
“I’m happy about young business men who are coming up and trying to promote made in Ghana stuff”, he said.
He also called on government to turn its attention to revamping the local textiles industry to boost the fashion industry.
“What we need to do is to revive our textiles industry and make the pricing a little bit competitive so that people who no longer travel to Dubai, Asia or Turkey to buy fabrics”, he added.
For his part, Marketing Executive of WilNorb Fashion House, Jerry John Biase, said his outfit’s entry into the fashion industry seeks to change the narrative of delays and disappointments on the part of designers in delivering to their customers.
WilNorb Fashion Home is a newly opened company which deals in African wears, promises to give first class treatment to clients as well as meet customers expectations.
Its vision is to become a market-leading brand in African wear with operations across the sub region.
The official opening of WilNorb fashion house featured some Members of Parliament. MP for Agortime Constituency, Charles Agbeveh graced the occasion as Chairman of the ceremony.
