The management of Asante Kotoko will meet to decide on where to play their next betPawa Ghana Premier League home game following the temporary closure of the Baba Yara Stadium.
The Porcupine Warriors played at their home ground on Wednesday, March 1, as they defeated Bechem United to go five points behind Aduana FC in the chase for the league title.
However, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) after the game, announced the decision to put on hold domestic games at the stadium until after the Black Stars 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Angola.
A statement on the GFA's website read: "The Baba Yara Sports stadium pitch will not be available for domestic competitions until after Ghana's Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Angola.
"The Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Ghana Football Association and the National Sports Authority reached the decision during a meeting on Wednesday.
"The decision is to give managers of the pitch ample time to further improve the quality of pitch for Ghana’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Angola."
In a conversation with Joy Sports, the Communications and Brands Manager of Kotoko, David Obeng Nyarko, revealed management "meet to take a decision from their options" on where their next home game should be played.
The Porcupine Warriors have 21 points at the Baba Yara Stadium this season from nine games played, scoring 19 and conceding just seven. Only Nsoatreman (23) and Berekum Chelsea (22) have accumulated more points at home than Kotoko.
Seydou Zerbo's men face King Faisal in their next league game and a decision from management is expected soon.
