Former Ghana international, John Paintsil, says Chris Hughton should consider working with someone like Kwasi Appiah if he wants to succeed with the Black Stars.
Hughton was appointed the new head coach of the senior national team on Sunday night following extensive negotiations between the Ghana Football Association and the former.
The appointment of the 64-year-old comes after Otto Addo's departure following Ghana's 2022 FIFA World Cup exit.
With being success the topmost priority for both Hughton and the Ghana FA, Painstil, who was the Black Stars' right-back for quite a long time, believes someone with the profile of Appiah will help the Irish achieve that target.
“What he needs to do is to have someone like Kwasi Appiah," he said speaking on Mining City Radio.
“When Chris Hughton get Kwasi Appiah in his team, they can even win the Nations Cup back-to-back because, him having that experience, and Kwesi Appiah also having that experience and also knowing the culture of the game, I think that will be all.”
Hughton was part of the technical team of the Black Stars at the World Cup in Qatar serving as the technical advisor.
He will now work with two of the members -- George Boateng and Mas-Ud Didi Dramani following his official appointment.
