Ghana international Bernard Tekpetey says being awarded the Foreign Player of the Year in the Bulgarian league for 2022 will serve as a motivation to do better in his subsequent performances.
The forward won the award two weekends following his impressive outings for Ludogorets Razgrad last year which saw his side clinch the league title for yet another season.
The 25-year-old, who scored 10 goals last season in 23 appearances in an exclusive interview with Joy Sports said: "Looking at the foreign players in the Bulgarian league and getting recognised as the best player, I felt privileged.
"I am really glad to receive that award. It is going to motivate me and empower me to work harder and showcase my talent to the world as well."
The forward also credited his teammates for their efforts in helping him to achieve the prize and to flourish in the top flight.
"My teammates also played a big role in my success because playing as a team and trying to unite in terms of goalscoring have been amazing and have brought me this award.
"The Ghanaian players here also congratulated me and said I deserved this award more."
Tekpetey returned to league action over the weekend and provided an assist in Ludogorets' 2-1 win over Spartak Varna.
