Actors Majd Michel and Yvonne Nelson are not happy about the lack of commitment some young actors in the movie industry are exhibiting.
According to them, many hopeful actors attach little seriousness to the craft, questioning their readiness for the path they have chosen.
Speaking on Metro TV’s Entertainment Review show, Yvonne Nelson noted that some would-be actors lack basic work ethics such as getting their lines right.
“You can give them a year, they won't get their lines. It all comes down to their work ethics. They are unserious. You want to put people on but ask yourself, do they really want it? Do they really want this platform you're giving them?” she passionately asked.
The Princess Tyra star also stated that the young actors lacked an understanding of how the industry operates.
“After the movie is shot, it comes down to promoting it but will they have the time for it? Do they even know what this whole promotion thing is all about? Can they even do interviews? So many things are involved that they have little or no knowledge of,” she said.
Also on the show, Majid Michel stated that the wannabe actors have no sense of sacrifice now. He opened up on how he endured a lot on movie sets at the initial stages of his career.
“They have no sense of sacrifice. They want it easy like not sharing a room or having internet access in their rooms. We came to shoot a movie. They said they won't share a room. Meanwhile, I used to sleep on the floor for two weeks. Not on any soft mattress but on a bedsheet on the ground,” he said.
Majid pointed out that in film and across every department of life, leaders must identify and watch consistently for those who are capable and committed.
