According to her, it will be detrimental to businesses if their human resources are encountering mental challenges in the process of discharging their duties.
Speaking on Masterclass on Joy FM, Akosua Agyemang Okine, said it is important for organisations to monitor and ensure that the mental health of their employees is intact to enhance productivity and increase profits of the business.
“If you are wanting to have quality human resource, then you ought to be concerned about the individuals that work for you”.
“We are so performance oriented that we forget about the well-being of the person who is working. Nobody engages people on their mental state which is the control centre when we come to work”, she said.
She furthered that, when the mental wellbeing of employees are compromised, they would not be able to deliver and contribute their quota to the growth of the business.
She stressed on the need to create awareness on mental health in organisations.
