High-flying forward, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh has signed a contract extension with Ghana Premier League side, Accra Hearts of Oak.
The news of Barnieh's contract extension was announced by the club on Tuesday, January 3, though the extent of the new deal was not mentioned in the announcement.
Barnieh was expected to be out of contract at the end of the year but the player has now penned a new deal with the club amid reports of a deal outside the country in line.
Hearts had been negotiating for months on getting the player to sign a new deal and could now benefit from him should they receive an offer.
A statement from the club reads, “The Management of Accra Hearts of Oak: PLC is pleased to announce to our teaming followers that Daniel Afriyie Barnich has extended his contract with the club.”
The player is currently in camp with the Black Galaxies who will be playing in this month's African Nations Championships (CHAN) in Algeria.
He was also a member of the Black Stars team at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
