The Ghana Union of Traders Association (GUTA) is asking the Ghana Health Service, to as a matter of urgency examine and evaluate the Covid-19 situation in China and advise accordingly traders who travel to the Far East country to transact business.
This follows the prevalent cases of Covid-19 being reported in China.
According to a statement from GUTA, China is a major destination of imports for many of its members and as a result, most traders may want to resume their business trips to China.
This is on the back of the country's decision to lift Covid-19 restrictions on travel from January 8, 2022.
“As we all know, China is a major destination of import for many Ghanaian traders, and as a result of the long wait, most Ghanaian businesses will want to resume their businesses trips to this productive and beautiful country.”
"However, we have heard that Covid-19 is still prevalent in China, hence our call on the Ghana Health Service to examine and evaluate the situation and advice Ghanaian travelers”, the statement added.
