The application for affiliation filed by the Professionals Forum (Pro-Forum) to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has been approved.
The Pro-Forum is a body of intellectuals and professionals from diverse sectors of the economy who have availed themselves to serve the NDC and the country at large with their diverse skill-set and knowledge.
Following their formal recognition by the Party’s executives as an affiliate of the Party, the group pledged their “full unalloyed support for the Party.”
“We will continue to serve the Party with our diversified expertise, rich experiences, and resources until the Party gains political power to offer Ghanaians a people-centered, transparent and accountable government.”
They also took the opportunity to congratulate the Party on their successful Delegates’ Conference and election of a new Executive Council.
According to the President of the Pro-Forum, Ambassador Sam Pee Yalley, their victories were “hard-won and well deserved.”
He also extended the group's congratulations to the Alex Segbefia-led Planning Committee for organizing “one of the best National Congresses of the NDC.”
“The whole process was very peaceful, democratic and beautiful as witnessed by the whole world.”
They noted that the professionalism that was also shown by the Ghana Police Service and the Electoral Commission of Ghana had also significantly contributed to the orderliness that characterized the Congress.
Delegates and drivers of the delegates were not left out.
“To all delegates we say may God continue to bless and protect you for your loyalty and endurance.
“It's been three days after the Congress, and there has not been any reported incidence so we thank all drivers for driving our delegates back to their homes peacefully,” Ambassador Sam Pee Yalley said.
“Whilst congratulating those who found favour with the Delegates, we wish to encourage those who were not too lucky and wish them better luck next time,” he added.
