Fatawu Mohammed, who is reportedly released by Hearts of Oak, has claimed God will not forgive him if he advises Daniel Afriyie to stay at the club.
Daniel Afriyie's contract with the Phobians will run out at the end of the year. Hearts of Oak board member Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe said the Black Stars attacker is running away from negotiations.
Fatawu, 30, who seemed bitter about his release from the club, did not hold back when talking about the contract situation of the 21-year-old.
“I will not advise Afriyie to stay at Hearts of Oak. God will even punish me for that. Afriyie is my son, but I will not advise him to stay. God will not even forgive me,” Fatawu Mohammed told Sports Obama TV.
Fatawu Mohammed has been playing for Hearts of Oak since 2013. He is the longest-serving player in the club's history (9 years).
The 30-year-old right-back also said the oldest football club in Ghana doesn't understand business that is why they don't sell players to top clubs abroad.
“The management doesn’t understand business, or they don’t do business. They have no plans for the players. Truth is bitter,” he added.
