On Thursday, December 1, 2022, a dream came true for the winner of the Joy FM Family Pop Quiz Mini-Series, Addai-Akosah Brimpong.
The 14-year-old with interest in science, after weeks of preparation, joined a group of talented teenagers on a fun and educational trip to Singapore.
Master Addai–Akosah left the shores of Ghana on the night of Thursday for the all-expense paid round-trip, which is the ultimate prize for the Ghana Olympiad Academy-sponsored competition.

“I am very excited, I can’t even describe my feelings as at now”, he said in an interview with Joy FM at the Kotoka International Airport.
Master Addai–Akosah who won the competition with 38 points during the grande finale, will embark on an adventurous visit to Disney, a robotics workshop, and join children from other countries for a gala dinner night.
He will also attend the Young Achievers Leadership Academy (YALA) Camp 2022, while in Singapore for almost a fortnight, plus other fun activities.
A first-time traveler, the winner shared his expectations for the trip. “I am looking forward to the IGMO (International Gamma Mathematics Olympiad) lessons and the robotics class, as well as the Disney and then the Universal Studio trip that we would be going for”, he said, with a grin on his face at the airport.
The Family Life International School student had some words of appreciation for all who supported him. He thanked his family, stressing on special appreciation to his father who took it upon himself to register him for the competition.
“I also want to thank the rest of my family members for supporting me, and then to Joy FM for hosting this competition, as well as the Ghana Olympiad Academy for the sponsorship”, he added.

Master Addai–Akosah Brimpong emerged winner during the 2nd edition of the mini-series competition on October 16, hosted by Edem Knight-Tay. His sterling performance, earned him a spot in the grande finale on November 6, eventually winning it with 38 points.
The Joy FM Family Pop Quiz Mini-Series, sponsored by the Ghana Olympiad Academy, aimed to engage teenagers who dared to exhibit their level of intelligence in a fun and exciting radio quiz. Participants in each episode attempted a set of questions in English Language, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies.
